the quote that went nowhere
before RelyCare, i ran Oryind. found clients, figured out what they needed, built the software, dealt with everything else. it made money. that money eventually went into RelyCare.
a speech therapy clinic came to me about tracking sessions and patient progress. i treated it like any other job. wrote a proposal. quoted $3,000+ for a private version of what would become RelyCare.
the deal fell through.
i kept thinking about it. started talking to therapists. ended up talking to 50-something of them over the next few months. what happened between sessions. what they couldn’t keep track of. what they didn’t trust software to do. what they needed to see in a patient’s history.
the first version was mostly documentation. but getting notes written wasn’t the whole problem. they needed to understand what was happening to a patient over time, with evidence to back it up.
so i changed what i was building.
